I see Charley & Ewan are out on their third (and probably final) adventure. Argentina to Los Angeles, this time riding the electric Harley Davison Livewire. Harley will be hoping to get sales from it that BMW did for the GS, I don't think it'll be the case!

Charlie is a cock. For the reality of their trips check out Ewan and Thingy on youtube.

Reckon they both are! but they certainly made BMW happy that's for sure! Plus 15 years ago it managed to get a lot of people talking bikes, which can never be bad in my book. I guess they are getting a small fortune from Harley to ride them monstrosity's. Sure the support trucks always stop it from being the authentic bike trip that you and I may have experienced back in the day but it still does motorcycling no harm, better to be talked about than not.

Yeah perhaps. I’ve softened from hardcore „only need four wheels to transport the race bike“, to the bike is a toy in the shed for the occasional summers play when time / family commitments allow. Way of the world I guess. My 52 year old mate just brought his first ever motorcycle ‚toy‘, a Trumpie bobber. I guess that is why there are so many niche machines out there these days. People want to project different images of themselves, no matter how pretend that might be.

Gotta admit I don't get the 'motorbike to express or project an image' thing.

Who else can win on the Honda? Hopefully HRC has Plan B in 2-3 years when #93 tries his hand on another brand. What will Junior ride after next season?

Short of HRC bringing out a machine with benign M1 like characteristics 2020 Jorge‘s done. Like Rossi he should just pull stumps now and protect what‘s left of his legacy. if I was Puig I’d be chasing Popgun. He can boss a machine, like Jorge has proven he cannot. Other candidates? I like Mir‘s aggression, which is too much for wee Suzi, but could be adapted to the RCV. Maybe Frankie would be a good points gathering counterpart to Marc with a view to the triple crown. Junior? I doubt he has the arsenal for a RCV.

Mav's a nice guy and a decent racer but I'm not impressed enough, never really sent the world on fire has he. He came into World Champs racing with some questionable management and won his title in what can only be described as a dodgy final race. Since moving up to Motogp he's been a solid performer. Mav is 6 wins, 22 podiums, 885 points and a 6th place average but compare that to Rossi over the exact same period who is 7 wins, 38 podiums, 1,117 points and a 4th place average. Rossi's almost 20 years older, had a broken leg during that time and a long way past his best. Many see these last few years as woeful results for VR.....but significantly better than Popgun. see what I mean? So what are you seeing in Mav ZF that I'm missing?

Two years on the then lesser Suzuki machine remember RF. Subsequently hampered by the Rossi lead M1 development. This year Mav‘s been knocked off three times and is moving forwards, whilst Rossi moves backwards. It’s all crystal clear when you think about it RF. Dodgy final moto3 race?!

Yeah pretty sure I remember summat about Mav's cousin wiping out his Moto3 championship rivals didn't I?
True enough, Mav's best season to date, let's hope you're right and he can make the final (but biggest) leap. Said from the very beginning, I was very impressed with the quality and experienced personel the Sepang Yam squad managed to attract but I never included Fabio in there, he kinda missed my radar. But gotta say all season so far he has had a consistency that already outlasted Zarco's decent run of a couple of seasons ago. Time to mix the team up and get Fabio and Vale to swap, make it interesting! reckon split Rossi's crew up too not only Gabby.

Blaming a couple of brake pad / spit ‘n polish antipodean grease monkeys does not exculpatory Rossi from his one true failing- not fast enough.
