Had to give up riding at long last three fused discs in my neck and lower back plus arthritis in my thumbs. No longer safe. Sorry to hear that Saturn. I have arthritis pain base of right thumb, just started taking turmeric capsules and will see how that goes.

Hey up Sats.. Jeez, sorry to hear the old bod's letting you down. Half the reason I bought the CX was because it's so comfortable to ride. I actually looked at one or two mid size scooters, for nipping in and around town on.. is it possible for you to keep riding by going down the twist & go route perhaps? Still have the KTM, GS, CBF and yes, the Firestorm. Values are starting rise for nice examples. The same applies for pre-Y2K Blades as well.. so it's better than money in the bank, without considering the pleasure of ownership. I haven't ridden the VTR for well over a year now and will be putting it on the ramp after the Triumph Sprint 1050 I bought to sell has been fitted with parts to get it through an MOT. I'll drag it out and post a snap. Hope the family are well. I take it you and the missus have had both jabs? Due to have my 2nd at the end of May.. Yep both ok here wosi - both had second jabs with no ill effects. Several family members have had the old ''Kung Flu''. My nephew his wife and 2 kids all tested positive a month ago. His wife and kids only had mild symptoms but nephew was laid up in bed for more than a week He's 43. Kids 8 and 4. Thought about the old twist and go wosi but old as I may be - not enough power - lol.

Returned to my old love of art during the multiple lock-downs. Here's a sketch for your amusement. View AttachmentThat really good Sat’s, well impressed with your talent! Funny what happens when you have spare time init. Our youngest went off to Uni so we have more time and ended up writing my debut fiction novel and self-published it as a kindle/ebook or whatever, available at all the usual outlets for such things amazon, apple, kobo etc (free to download all through May!)
You can read it if you like? Yeah I used a 'pen name' to stay anonymous. I’m struggling to get anyone to leave reviews. MotoNutters is my only guilty pleasure on-line, other than here I do not partake on any social media platforms, 99% of the time I prefer it but now it means so i have no way to ‘shout’ about it. It seems reviews attract interest and vice versa, if you have any ideas for publicising it Sat’s please let me know....or leave a review if you don't mind. Cheers nd keep up the art.

No problem RF my Mrs has a kindle and just downloaded it from Amazon. We're both looking forward to reading it and will be only too pleased to give a review. The synopsis has already drawn me in - I was born in 1942 so WW2 is prominent in my life - my old dad was in in REME (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) and as well as dispatch riding and maintenance of military vehicles also was a bike riding instructor. I've got a Twitter account and the Mrs has a Facebook account so will give you a plug on both platforms. Good luck with it. Looking forward to Le Mans this weekend and the first World Supers the week after.

Hi RF ... my Mrs. (an ex psychiatric nurse) has already read your book downloaded from Amazon. She was very impressed and left you a positive review on Amazon which they say may take a couple of days to publish. I'm about to start it myself. Your research is excellent I hope you continue writing.

Ha. Just discovered this old thread. What the fck did you buy one of those Pacific Coast condoms for?!
If you do Goa, you should do Hampi. And if you do Hampi you should ride up to Dudhsagar falls. A few river crossings along the way, so unload and have fun on a day trip. I foolishly did it fully laden and dumped it only at the last of them on the return ride down.
Awaiting Andreani Misano Evo fork cartridges from Brooks here, as the old girl up on the blocks and legless.
Cars don’t lean so not as much fun. But missus just brought a RCZ in January. Jaysus that thing can be abused silly through corners. 235 19‘s and no Body Roll, just grip, grip and grip.
Nr.2 end of the month for me too. Too many things in common Wosi. It’s just not right.

I never got to ride the old PC800. Bought the bike on a whim without an MOT but running and thought it was going to need an exhaust and new brakes. After stripping the tupperware things quickly went downhill. The swingarm was rotten, the motor had a leak, the rad was fked etc. It was clearly going to be a money pit, so I parked it and filed the project under miscellaneous. When dispatching in the late 80's I'd lusted after one while chugging around on various CX's.
India is on the back-burner until Covid abates, but I will certainly take your suggestion into consideration. I fancy a dummy run to Kerala, down the coast road, before embarking on the big trip up North.
Those cartridges are a thing of beauty.. but I'd have spent money tweaking the motor first.
My missus sold her Z3 but has a Cooper now. Both stick like shit to a blanket and are good fun. I have a set of freshly powder coated 20" M Sport alloys waiting for 275 and 305's for the X5. Proper pimp mobile that one. Shame RF's daughter has a fella, I was going to offer to take her for a spin..

Ah Honda's condom years. The original CBR litre was tolerable, the 600 less so and the PC800 a complete abomination. I'll give you your CX fetish ( being close to a 90 degree twin. Some great cafe customs built around those too.). But the PC?! That's playing the ugliest f..k game....
Kerala and the Western Ghats are wonderful. Senic and twisty. Certainly one of the more peaceful / relaxed riding parts of India.
Weight, suspension and engine in that order is how money s/be spent on improvements. I'd like another twenty hp just for a more thrilling out of corner kick really, but having had a very spirited ride a couple of months ago against a youngster on a full fat R1M with active Ohlins front and rear all I had to do with my 80hp to stay right in his 180hp wheel tracks was twist the throttle a bit harder and brake a little deeper. Road conditions always the mitigating factory negating big HP usage. What was interesting though was at times this particular road was a bit rural dusty and I was getting some rear end movement. He said the R1 remained planted at all times - that's quality suspension at work for you. So far I've jettisoned about 10kg (mainly by losing heavy OEM cans), lighter more elegant front fairing. Even these cartridges will save 1.5kg. A CF wheel will go up front one day too.
305's?! Jaysus, that's approaching agricultural territory.
A career defining pivotal Clash weekend for the old fella this one.....
