Ah Honda's condom years. The original CBR litre was tolerable, the 600 less so and the PC800 a complete abomination. I'll give you your CX fetish ( being close to a 90 degree twin. Some great cafe customs built around those too.). But the PC?! That's playing the ugliest f..k game.... Kerala and the Western Ghats are wonderful. Senic and twisty. Certainly one of the more peaceful / relaxed riding parts of India. Weight, suspension and engine in that order is how money s/be spent on improvements. I'd like another twenty hp just for a more thrilling out of corner kick really, but having had a very spirited ride a couple of months ago against a youngster on a full fat R1M with active Ohlins front and rear all I had to do with my 80hp to stay right in his 180hp wheel tracks was twist the throttle a bit harder and brake a little deeper. Road conditions always the mitigating factory negating big HP usage. What was interesting though was at times this particular road was a bit rural dusty and I was getting some rear end movement. He said the R1 remained planted at all times - that's quality suspension at work for you. So far I've jettisoned about 10kg (mainly by losing heavy OEM cans), lighter more elegant front fairing. Even these cartridges will save 1.5kg. A CF wheel will go up front one day too. 305's?! Jaysus, that's approaching agricultural territory. A career defining pivotal Clash weekend for the old fella this one..... Here you go ZF, have you seen this?!
Ohh, that’s lovely isn’t it. A great buy for someone too. To have the provenance of the greatest WSBK rider of all time makes the price very reasonable. Who wouldn’t fancy that as a track bike?

I wouldn't. Nowadays I like a track day bike with just a bit less ability than me....so this one is far better than me to do it any justice.

Growing old is compulsory, RF. Growing up is optional, so I doubt it..
How's the check shirt and turned up Levi beardy brigade btw, did you waste good money buying a retro Mutt 250 Mongrel and become a full blown Hipster in the end?

Haha no Wosi I ended up ‘Mutting’ a CB250RS, then a CG125. Japanese reliability came first and then easy to style them into ‘scramblers’. In between builds at the mo just waiting to find next one to do. Slightly tempted with this interesting 2 stroke from round your neck of the woods but the beards seems to like 4 strokes. www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw=moto+guzzi+meriden&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_osacat=0&_odkw=moto+guzzi+maiden so think I'm gonna stick to Jap tinkering. Might do a YBR125 or a CBF125 both nice to work on. You’re right tho the Hipsters are only to happy to pay way over the odds for ‘cool’ when they’re finished!!
So have you enjoyed the dull as fk Motogp season Wosi?
I have not watched a single race, just about last for the 10 min BTSport ‘low-light’ clip they stick on YouTube.
Not interested in watching a train of riders all going round together. Shame rules don't allow Brivio to buy the 2 GSX-RR’s and field a privateer team. Even a year old, them bikes are too good to be wasted on a shelf, tragic that Yams are the only in-line 4’s next year. I'll get back to watching it when all only when (which will be never) the bloody rear fins, spoons, low, middle and high wings, traction control, launch control, height adjusters and mapping cr@p all get binned. All these rules they enforce but turn a blind eye to teams running lower than legal tyre pressures.
Its 2 wheel F1 as far as I can see and getting worse. Sprint races! What's that about? The main race is only 40 mins long. On about introducing safety car laps now, then it'll be pit-stop tyre changes next. It's spolit the racing imho, sad to see Thundersport club racing came to an end -seems they're disillilusioned by it all like me.
So Pecco the Dennis Rodman tribute paying drink driver or Fabio the part-time stripper for champ? Pecco's got the best bike and came good second half while Fabio's doing stuff no one else can do on the M1. I'm not fussed either way.
Nah makes me grumpy b@st@rd, much happier riding, building and selling to lumberjacks wanting to do their CBT!

Can't blame 'em for trying but if it didn't sell first time, its not gonna sell £100 more. Still love blue smoke and the smell of 2 stroke bikes.
Cheap single cylinder 4 stroke 125's seem to be my build focus now..... BUT am thinking of 'Mutting' a FZS600 Fazer for myself just because they are dirt cheap at mo and one of the best bikes I ever rode.

What about the earlier XJ600 Diversion? Bulletproof air-cooled slant block motor, plenty of 2nd hand spares, even cheaper..

My Fazer quandry is that the frame design around the tank is tricky to get a Muttish looking retro/scrambler design to fabricate to what's there. I once had a Diversion for about a month years back, OK bike but the engine's almost as as dull as a 250 superdream, well compared to the super-lively FZS I mean. And I think it would be similar issue with tank.
