Looking back it seems that the off season wasn't that long, or perhaps my sense of time has changed in the past 2 years.
Cretins and cabbages still run governments, and no one seems to question why so many of them are in lock-step with the narrative when normally they have trouble agreeing on most anything. Someone had the nerve to say that the reason the US was out of Afghanistan and @pium was because the profits were better and costs less with big pharma. The nerve!
Joe Rogan had the nerve to consider "alternatives", and Neil Young took himself off Spotify, even if only for a few days (to the relief I'm sure of some).
Ghislaine testified, but no one was arrested. And Epstein's good buddy Brunel also had the misfortune of hanging himself as well recently. Tough business protecting the elite.
So for me the new season will be a welcome distraction; certainly I cannot soil my mind and watch the State of the Union tomorrow.
8 Ducatis, renewed Suzuki and maybe Aprilia and KTM? A new Honda. Hopefully a year of surprises but in my heart I'll be rooting for Frankie.
So, 3 or 4 of us left. Some good ideas on other platforms that I will totally support, as this site just doesn't get the traction. Motorsports and The-Race permit posts, but one must be careful.
I did have good fun winding up a few of the F1-ers on The-Race. Good thing for them it was me and not Bob; "soft cnts" indeed!

You had fun winding softies up and used bad language? Good job RF wasn't there.. I see Marquez has been playing down his chances and making excuses again, while offering tips for punters who they should bet on. Funny how the early indications are Bookie's don't buy his bullshit and make him hot favourite, innit? I'm eyeing a cheeky selection of Rins for the win, and The Beast each-way..

The Race uses Disqus (remember them?) and Motorsport.com’s comment content is tame….either cos they’re just a polite bunch or its modded (remember that?). Plus both their comments tend to stay generally focused on topic and that’s why they still function.
Did you see this by the way?
Interesting interview with Casey on many topics.

I wouldn't call motorsport polite, there's a bitter contingent who are well worth winding up. Most of them are clueless though and it's easy work.. not like the old days when Rossi was at Ducati, and we were at MCN.
Regards the interview. I listened to the first half hour's whining, then turned it off. It was embarrassing how much the interviewer wanted to be Casey's best mate, which reminded me of you and Nostro.

FP2 (I dozed through some of it)
I don't know what 2021-hybrid for the factory Dukes really means, but things could be going better?
Clearly Suzuki, Honda and even Aprilia and KTM are happy. Yamaha fortunate to have 2 talented riders who know how to extract the most. Qualifying will be key.

One down 20 to go. Great performance from The Beast Bastianini. The old guard well and truly given a wake up call. Having said that Losail doesn't usually give an indication of how the season will go. Good solid ride from Lowe's in Moto2 to get on the podium suffering with tendonitis. I know how painful and debilitating that can be having suffered from it. Ended up with my arm in plaster for 7 weeks - a week longer than my broken wrist. Both injuries from my Motocross rides. Impressed with how good the rookies are these days in moto3.
Marquez ? New bike or fitness issue ?

On busy racing forums, there seems to be a lot of excuses coming from some regular Marquez apologist Pol should have ridden slower to save his soft tyres - no doubt with the added bonus of giving Marc a better chance - with others offering a defensive argument that it's not unusual for Marc to be beaten by his team mate..
Pol's job is to beat his team mate, not give Marquez a leg up so he looks better? He rode the race that suited him and made a very good result. Simple as.
Binder and Aleesh on the medium were marginally quicker than Pol at the end but, without the mistake at Turn 1, neither would have caught him and he'd have finished 2nd. One-eyed fans are deluding themselves if they think that had Repsol riders run the medium, they would have matched Enea's blinding pace over the last few laps.
And another thing.. My fag packet reckoning says yesterday was the first time since San Marino 2016 that Marquez finished off the podium, when his team mate's finished on it. Long may it continue and hat's off to Pol. Just imagine what a quality rider with winning pedigree could be doing on that bike?

I see where riders indicate that Qatar is not atypical, so "wait until Europe". Regardless it will be interesting to see if Binder and Pol continue at the front, and more interestingly if Pol can get more out of the Honda than Marc (until he learns to use the rear brake apparently).
If I was from Italy and worked at Ducati I suppose I could understand the "I don't test" and the apology from Bologna, but I don't. Riders do test, at least to a degree; riders do provide feedback. Right or wrong I lost some respect for Pecco and there is a line behind him ready to take his "testing" seat. Could be the "2021.5" factory bike has some teething issues? Certainly Enea is having a good time on his 2021.

I understand his frustration, but it was a last minute decision to ditch the GP22 and mackle together Pecco's Factory GP22.1 by all accounts, so the bike is bound to need dialling in. At the end of the day, Bagnaia has just signed a new deal and is Catweazle's bitch for the next two years. If it needs sorting and stuff needs testing, who else is going to do it, because only Miller is on the same spec bike? I hope he doesn't turn into a whining prammy cunt.. Talking of which.. did you realise that 15 years ago to the (yester)day Casey Stoner won his first GP in the 2007 season opener at Qatar? I remember it like yesterday. The first round of a new 800cc era, everybody was gobsmacked how fast the Ducati's were. In the race Stoner's Ducati was an average 12kmh faster tha Rossi's Yamaha. Fabio was clearly down on speed and unhappy last Sunday, but to put things into perspective Bastianini's GP21 was only 4.5kmh faster than his M1.. Concrete proof Bob's Gran could have won on a Ducati in 2007. www.bikesportnews.com/news/news-detail/motogp-qatar-im-not-a-tester-im-here-to-win-bagnaiaresources.motogp.com/files/results/2007/MotoGP/QAT/RAC/average%2bspeed.pdfresources.motogp.com/files/results/2022/QAT/MotoGP/RAC/AverageSpeed.pdf

All so interesting. A track hastily resurfaced (well, half of it). "Buriam Specials" causing havoc with the Hondas; Quatro figuring it out; Ducatis packing the front; Marc on his way to once again getting the most crashes per weekend?; Race Day rain could change it all up?
Shout out to Brad. Let's see if Jorge can make his front row pay off this time. Jake Dixon having a very good weekend so far. The Mooneys are doing well.
Does Puig have a comb-over or is that from transplants?
